A 36 year-old woman is facing a number of charges following an incident in which police say she was found in a stolen vehicle.
At approximately 8:26p.m., Saturday, dispatch received a call of a possible impaired driver who was involved in a hit and run with another vehicle at Ave T North and 30th Street West. Officers located the vehicle stuck in a snow bank in the alley of Howell Ave. The driver of the vehicle refused to place the vehicle into park and kept her foot on the accelerator while stuck. She was eventually taken into custody with the assistance of the Canine Unit. The driver was transported to the hospital by Medavie Health Services suffering from a minor dog bite injury.
A 23 year-old woman who was the passenger was taken into custody without incident. She had numerous warrants outstanding for break and enter and breach of undertaking.
The driver is facing charges of impaired driving, theft of motor vehicle over $5000, hit and run, and impersonation.
