Catherine McKay has been denied full parole. The decision was rendered earlier this month by the Parole Board of Canada.
It was almost 5 years ago in January of 2016 when Linda and Lou Van de Vorst lost their son Jordan, daughter-in-law Chanda and grandchildren Kamryn and Miguire when they were killed after an impaired driver, Catherine McKay, crashed into their vehicle.
Catherine McKay had a blood-alcohol level three times the legal limit when she failed to stop at a stop sign at Wanuskewin Road and Highway 11, killing the family of four. She pleaded guilty to four counts of impaired driving causing death and was handed a 10-year sentence.
McKay was granted day parole this past April and is living in a half-way house. The Parole Board ruled that she will continue with day parole.
