Canada now has its second official COVID-19 vaccine because Health Canada has authorized the Moderna candidate.
A news release from Health Canada says this is a critical step in ensuring additional vaccines are available to all Canadians in all parts of the country.
The Moderna vaccine doesn’t have to be stored at -70 degrees so the handling requirements make it easier for shipping to more remote locations.
At this point it’s only for people 18 or older.
Moderna is conducting studies in children 12 and older right now, so the age limit could change in the future.
