A COVID-19 outbreak was declared Christmas Eve at the Rosthern Hospital in the Acute Care unit. Also on December 24th, outbreaks were declared in the workplace at a COVID-19 contact tracing site in Regina as well as Clair Parker Homes, an assisted living facility in Regina. Saskatoon’s Warm N Cozy Care Home declared an outbreak December 24th as well.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority has declared outbreaks at Willowgrove School and Walter Murray Collegiate in Saskatoon. Classes at both schools will resume on Monday January 4th as scheduled.
An outbreak was declared at Medavie Health Services West. Medavie confirms they have five paramedics who have tested positive for COVID-19. This is in Saskatoon and all are self isolating. They say all other staff are being tested and and they assure the public it is safe to call an ambulance.
There is also an outbreak at Luthercare Group Home in Saskatoon. One staff member and one resident have tested positive for COVID-19. Luthercare Communities says visitation at all group homes are restricted to compassionate reasons including end of life and supportive care visits.
