It was a tough end to Christmas for one Saskatoon family. The Saskatoon Fire Department says it responded to a 911 call at 10:32 p.m. Friday night of a house fire with flames, that was spreading to a nearby home in the 400 block of Avenue I South.
First arriving firefighters included four engines, a ladder truck, a rescue truck, battalion chief and fire investigator, found a house fully involved in fire and a house next door on fire. Once the second house fire was brought under control by pumping water through window openings, crews did a search and found no one inside.
Shortly after 11 p.m. the house with the most severe fire damage was brought under control. All occupants were accounted for outside the house and there were no injuries to anyone involved. No damage estimate or cause is yet available, the fire remains under investigation.
