A Saskatoon business has pleaded guilty in Outlook Provincial Court to violating an Occupational Health and Safety Regulation after a fatality on October 25th of last year.
An employee with Sommer Green Forages was killed near Broderick when cleaning the teeth on the roller of a baler, and then becoming entangled.
The business was charged with failing to ensure that before a worker undertakes the maintenance or repair of a machine, the machine is locked out and remains locked out.
The Court has fined Sommer Green Forages $50,000 and a surcharge of $20,000 for a total of $70,000.
