Update:
Calgary Police have confirmed the two individuals (a 17 year-old male and 19 year-old male) wanted on warrants for first degree murder, in relation to the death of Calgary Police Service officer Sergeant Andrew Harnett, have turned themselves in.
Calgary Police have issued 1st-degree murder warrants for two people following the death of a Calgary Police Service officer. At approximately 10:50 p.m., on Thursday, police say an officer conducted a traffic stop in which the vehicle fled, striking the officer in the process. Other officers were nearby and rendered aid as quickly as possible, while EMS rushed to their side. Paramedics and fellow officers fought to save his life, but he was pronounced deceased at hospital near midnight.
The officer, Sergeant Andrew Harnett, was 37 years-old, and joined the Calgary Police Service 12 years ago.
A 17 year-old male teenager and Amir Abulrahman, 19 years old, both of Calgary are sought in connection with the incident.
