A health care aide at a long term care home in Red Deer has been charged under the Federal Quarantine Act.
Red Deer RCMP say they were contacted by the Public Health Agency of Canada after Extendicare Michener Hill Long Term Care Home had informed them that an employee had failed to isolate after returning from the United States, back in October.
The matter was also reported to Alberta Health Services, and after what RCMP call a comprehensive investigation, including witness evidence and judicial authorizations to obtain records, a charge has now been made.
The accused has been served with a summons to appear in Red Deer Court on January 26th.
