
SaskPower is informing customers of a scam regarding fraudulent texts and emails that claim funds must be sent because of overbilling.
The messages may contain links leading to websites where financial or personal information may be requested. Check out the example of a fraudulent text that SaskPower received today (Tuesday) with this story at CJWW Radio-dot-com. SaskPower is telling customers that, while they do send monthly bill reminders via email, they don’t conduct financial transactions through text messages, email or social media. Customers are asked to call SaskPower customer service to ask about the state of your account or call your bank or local police if you have been a victim of this type of scam.
