Saskatoon Police say that five people were arrested Tuesday evening and are facing dozens of charges following a traffic stop.
Around five o’clock, members of the Guns & Gangs Unit saw what they call a suspicious brown Ford Fusion in the 1400 block of Idylwyld Drive. A traffic stop was conducted and all five in the vehicle were arrested. Police allege that a male passenger was concealing a can of bear spray, cocaine, and a large sum of cash. The female driver was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine and a female passenger was allegedly concealing ammunition and a large sum of cash. Police say that a loaded handgun was in the trunk along with prepackaged methamphetamine and cocaine, as well as over $1000 cash.
A 22-year-old man and a 30-year-old man each have drug and weapon charges including 10 firearms-related offences.
A 23-year-old woman is facing drug and weapon charges including eight firearms-related offences.
Another 23-year-old woman is charged with Breach of Conditions.
A 36-year-old woman is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
