In its Business Outlook Survey for the winter of 2021-21, the Bank of Canada says its results point to a continued recovery, supported by strengthening domestic and foreign demand, particularly in the goods-producing sectors. However, companies still expect the recovery to be uneven especially with businesses that have been hit hard by the pandemic. Businesses were surveyed between mid-November and early December. In light of strengthening demand, most firms reported stronger investment and hiring plans. Consumer price inflation is expected to remain somewhat below 2 percent over the next two years.
