Lloydminster RCMP say they tried to pull over a vehicle Saturday morning around 12:20 a.m. for a traffic infraction but the vehicle took off driving around Lloydminster in what officers describe as a dangerous manner including driving across the median, running red lights and making several u-turns.

RCMP threw out stud belts which the driver of the suspect vehicle avoided but reportedly hit a police car. The vehicle finally came to a stop and upon being taken into custody the driver allegedly fought with officers.

Sean Ruda, 39 years old, of Lloydminster is charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Flight from Peace Officer, and Assault on a Police Officer with a Weapon.
