Saskatoon Police say they have three people in custody who face weapon and drug charges after an evade police incident that kicked off around 4:30 Monday morning on St. Lawrence Court.
Police say they successfully deployed stop sticks on Assiniboine Drive when the vehicle fled but it didn’t come to a stop until the 10 block of Kootenay Drive.
The Police Air Support Unit directed canine and patrol officers to a garage on Churchill Drive where they believed the driver, who’d fled on foot, was holed up. A suspect was taken into custody at the garage and two women, also in the vehicle, face charges as well.
Police allege, inside the vehicle, they located a sawed off rifle, an imitation firearm, bear spray, a conducted energy weapon, two knives with finger loops, two machetes, seven cell phones and a large quantity of methamphetamine packaged for distribution.
The 23-year-old male driver is charged with; Evade Police, Driving While Prohibited, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Prohibited Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant. (Court Info # 991150875).
A 30-year-old woman is charged with; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000 and Prohibited Possession of a Firearm. She was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.
A 21-year-old woman is charged with; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000, and breach of court orders.
