Canadians are embracing the idea of baring their arms for the COVID vaccine. Angus Reid Institute says, last July only 46 per cent of those surveyed said they would get vaccinated as soon as it became available. That dropped to a low of 39 per cent in September. But, in the last survey taken this month, that number has rocketed to 60 per cent. In fact, 52 per cent of people asked say the amount of time they think that they will personally have to wait is too long.
Still, there are regional differences. In Saskatchewan, 55 per cent said they would get vaccinated if it became available; 26 per cent said no or not sure. Nationally, 17 per cent are in that group. And, while concerns do exist about side effects and long-term implications, Angus Reid says most of those willing to get the needle say they are more confident than anxious about the prospect.
