RCMP have charged 67 year old Robert Young of Buffalo Narrows with Second Degree Murder in connection with the death in 2018 of 42 year old Jason Chartier of that community. On December 20th, 2018, RCMP responded to a report of an injured, unconscious man in a shed behind a residence in Buffalo Narrows. The victim was declared deceased by EMS. The death was deemed suspicious. The investigation involved many branches of RCMP including Major Crimes Unit North and specialized units as well as the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service. As a result, the case was eventually considered a homicide.
Young was arrested and is scheduled to be in court in Buffalo Narrows Wednesday.
