Heavy drifting from extremely high winds kept plow operators in town and and on the highway, busy since Tuesday night. And there are still issues this morning. Penny gave us a call as she headed down Highway 16 to North Battleford this morning and says she had to turn around. She says at the 305 from Dalmeny onto Highway 16 it is impassable due to about a half dozen cars stuck in the ditch and on the road.
In Saskatoon Thursday, Ruth Street will be closed between Blain Avenue and Jarvis Drive for emergency water and sewer connection work. Access to sidewalks around the work zone will be restricted while this work is underway. Detours will guide motorists around the work zone. The project is expected to take two days to complete and Saskatoon Transit may be affected.
The City of Saskatoon says tree trimming will take place in parts of City Park starting Thursday. Closures will begin daily at 7:30 a.m. The project is expected to take four days to complete and access to sidewalks around work zones will be restricted while this work is underway. Detours will be in place guiding motorists around the work zones where needed.

Friday, January 22 – 7th Avenue will be closed between Queen and King streets
Saturday, January 23 – Queen Street will be closed between 7th Avenue and Spadina Crescent
Sunday, January 24 – Spadina Crescent will be closed between 24th and Queen streets
