Sales in food services and drinking places took a hit in November. Statistics Canada says sales were off 3.7 per cent across the country. Compared to the same month a year ago, sales were down about 31 per cent. Most provinces reported declines. In dollar terms, British Columbia and Alberta took the hardest hits. In percentage terms, Manitoba was hardest hit with sales off about 18 per cent. Saskatchewan was next with sales down about 11 per cent. Compared to November of 2019 sales in Saskatchewan were down 21.6 per cent. The dollar value here in November was $126.5 million.
