Around 2:30 Saturday morning, officers received a complaint of a shooting at an apartment complex on the 200 block of 2nd Street East in Meadow Lake. They found a man with a gunshot wound who was taken to Meadow Lake hospital before being transferred to hospital in Saskatoon. Meanwhile, other officers pulled over a car in the area. Officers allege seeing a loaded firearm being thrown out of the car window which was found in a nearby snowbank. Another firearm was allegedly found inside. 27 year old John Robert Arnold and 30 year old Brendan Keith Bouvier face numerous charges including firearms and Flight from Police charges.
Also on Saturday, RCMP received a complaint of multiple shots fired at a residence on the 600 block of 3rd Street West. No injuries were reported. Officers on patrol found an abandoned jeep with a window smashed out and a firearm was found inside.
On Sunday around 3:30 a.m., there was a complaint of a shooting at a resident on the 300 block of 6th Avenue East. A man with a gunshot wound was found and taken to hospital for treatment. Three people were seen running in the area. One was stopped and arrested. Two officers ran after the other two in minus 40 degree weather for eight blocks. A firearm was found discarded in the snow during the chase. Evidence led officers to a residence on the 100 block of 7th avenue West where nine people were arrested. The investigation continues and charges have not been laid.
