An individual in their 60’s from the North Central region is one of eight reported deaths. Three others were between the ages of 70-79 and located in the Saskatoon, Central East and Far North East zones. The remaining four people were over the age of 80—two in the Saskatoon zone and one each in the Regina and North Central zones.
Regina had the largest number of new positive COVID-19 tests at 53. Saskatoon reported 45 cases followed by the North West (40), North Central (26), Far North East (20), South East (18), North East (14), Far North West (10), Central East (9), Far North Central (6), South West (5), South Central (2) and Central West (1). Nine other cases have pending residence information.
The number of people in hospital has declined slightly to 206. One hundred and seventy-eight people are receiving inpatient care and 28 are in the intensive care unit. Of those, there are twelve in Saskatoon, ten in Regina, three in the North West Zone, two in the Central East Zone and one in the North Central Zone.
There were 3,036 COVID-19 tests processed on Friday. The seven-day average of daily new cases is 244 (19.9 new cases per 100,000 population).
There are 2,523 active COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan with a total of 20,803 recoveries.
One hundred and forty eight COVID-19 vaccines were administered on Friday, bringing the provincial total to 35,239.
The Ministry of Health is updating data reporting systems which means there will be no COVID-19 dashboard graphic until Monday.
