A 17 year-old teenager is facing a number of charges following an incident in which police say he refused to stop.
At approximately 1:26 a.m., Saturday, Patrol officers attempted to stop a Honda CRV traveling at a high rate of speed in the 100 block of 33rd St West. Officers say they immediately disengaged.
The vehicle was located abandoned in the 1100 block of Ave F North parked up on the sidewalk and stuck in a snow bank. Officers contacted the owner and found that the vehicle had just been stolen. The Saskatoon Police Canine Unit located the suspect a short time later attempting to hide in a garage he just broke into in the 1000 block of Ave F North. He was taken into custody without incident.
The teen is facing charges which include, evade police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, theft of motor vehicle, break and enter, and a warrant of apprehension. He will remain in custody until being seen by a Justice of the Peace Saturday.
