This week you can help make a child’s Valentine’s day special while also helping to support the Children’s Hospital.
Lynn Redl-Huntington, Vice President of Communications with the Jim Pattison Children’s Foundation, says the “Share the Love” campaign will see the Saskatchewan Blue Cross donate $10 for every electronic card sent to kids in hospital this week, up to $10,000. She says funds raised will help support urgently needed maternal and pediatric equipment, training and research for the children’s hospital.
Redl-Huntington adds that people can also donate specifically to the Child Lifezone, and says this donation will go towards activities like cookie decorating kits and craft kits. She hopes it will make kids feel a little more like they are at home, rather than at the hospital.
Redl-Huntington says every child in the hospital will recieve a card just before valentine’s day. Then on Valentine’s Day, kids will be brought to the child lifezone room, in a socially isolated way, for the activity kits. For those who can’t, because of covid or other medical restrictions, special kits and cards will be delievered to their rooms.
