The federal and provincial governments have announced more than $13.6 million in joint funding for 30 projects in Saskatchewan. The federal government is investing more than $6.7 million in projects through the Investing in Canada plan. The province is contributing more than $6.9 million.
The projects involve replacement of rural bridges, upgrading water and wastewater, the decommissioning of landfill, and improving recreation.
Government Relations Minister Don McMorris says it’s key to invest in reliable and sustainable infrastructure to assist communities with the impacts of COVID-19. He says, “It’s so important to keep the economy going as best we possibly can and how we can do that through municipalities, the provincial government, the federal government, is through infrastructure funding.” (cjww/ckrm)
