The Saskatchewan Medical Association says the province should be prioritizing healthcare workers in its vaccine rollout plan.
President, Dr. Barb Konstantynowicz says some healthcare workers who are close to the COVID-19 fight have been getting vaccinated. But she says, a preliminary plan showing that doctors and other health professionals would be high on the list has, seemingly, been scrapped.
She says it is worrisome that the majority of physicians throughout the province have not been identified as a priority
to receive the vaccine.
Konstantynowicz says the province’s 2,600 physicians want to know when they will be vaccinated. She says patients need reassurance that they can visit a doctor or healthcare facility without fears of catching the virus.
