Statistics Canada says manufacturing sales rose 0.9% to $54.2 billion in December in Canada. Sales were up in 9 of 21 industries, led by the wood product, transportation equipment, and petroleum and coal product industries.
Sales increased in every province except Ontario, led by British Columbia and Alberta.
Sales in Saskatchewan were up 5.8 per cent in December. that was the third largest increase of the provinces. Our total sales came in at about $1.2 billion.
Compared to December the year before, sales were up in Saskatchewan 0.3 per cent whereas nationally sales were down about 4 per cent.
