Prince Albert Police were sent to a multi-unit residence in the 300 Block of 32nd Street West shortly before 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon for a report of a disturbance. One woman was arrested at the scene for attempting to block residents from entering, damaging the building, and trying to turn off the building’s heating system.
Police say the woman was unco-operative and, at the detention area, they allege she produced a needle, removed the cap, and threatened police. Police tried to talk her into giving it up but eventually deployed pepper spray, and then a Conductive Energy Weapon.
Police say she continued to be combative and was able to grab a police baton and struck a metal fingerprint machine several times. Police deployed pepper spray a second time and the woman was taken into custody and placed inside a detention cell.
No one was injured.
The woman is facing four charges of assaulting a police officer and one charge of willful damage in connection with this file.
