Five dropped 911 calls lead to a remote snowmobile rescue with a happy ending on January 31st.
RCMP say an officer from the Meadow Lake Detachment was on the road when he heard about the five calls and when he got back to the Detachment he started working on the file while other officers were attending other calls for service.
The cell location was 30 kilometres south of Green lake and 30 kilometres into the bush.
Cst. Carignan had just finished her day shift and volunteered to help.
Before one of the 911 calls was cut off, the caller had given a phone number to let family know what was happening.
The two officers were told that a snowmobile had broken through the ice and the two men were stranded, soaked and very cold.
Goodfellow and Carignan loaded up the snowmobiles and emergency supplies and took off.
They ran into a man, who the RCMP are calling Mr. T, who knew the area well and had been searching for the men.
After showing him the cell phone coordinates, Mr. T took them straight to the location.
By the time they got there, the fire the two men had mad had gone out and they were with with frozen clothes.
The Detachment presented Mr. T with a Certificate of Appreciation for his contribution to the search.
Cst. Carignan says without him, they would never have found that exact location.
