The Oromo Community of Saskatoon is holding a rally to protest human rights violations in Ethiopia. The group intends to appeal to the Canadian government to pay attention to political prisoners and opposition leaders, who have been on a hunger strike in an Ethiopian prison since January 27th.
The group says that during the rally, they will condemn increased state repression, including mistreatments of political prisoners, mass arrests, killings, and politically motivated arrests of politicians, journalists, and civilians.
The rally will start at 11 o’clock Saturday morning at W.P. Bate Community School and will end at City Hall.
