A 33-year-old Saskatoon man faces charges of identity fraud plus willfully resisting and obstructing a police officer in relation to a disturbance Monday morning.
Saskatoon Police were called to the 400 block area of Avenue R South when they encountered the suspect causing a disturbance at a residence. When the man provided a false identity, he became physically combative and resisted arrest. A taser was used without effect on the suspect before police eventually arrested the man and taken to the S-P-S detention where he was assessed by Medavie Health Services personnel. It was later confirmed the man was under the influence of an intoxicant. In addition to the charges, the man had an outstanding criminal code warrant for being unlawfully at large.
