The grand finale for Aboriginal Storytelling Month is a live Zoom event with the three kohkoms from a video series that features the grandmothers learning about theatre and telling their own stories.
Library Services for Saskatchewan Aboriginal Peoples commissioned playwright, actor and artist, Curtis Peeteetuce, and filmmaker Marcel Petit to come up with a series that celebrates Indigenous storytelling and the kokhom series is the result. Peeteetuce says what he hears from people who have watched it is that these three women – Donna Lerat, Gloria Myo and Donna Merasty – are funny.
The whole series is available on YouTube and the live Zoom event is at 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
