A Wednesday morning traffic stop by Saskatoon Police has led to four people being arrested on various drug and weapons charges.
At about 4:50 a.m. on March 3, patrol executed a traffic stop on a 2004 black Toyota Camry in the 500 block of Avenue X South after observing what appeared to be drug trafficking activity. All four occupants were found to be breaching court-ordered conditions or had warrants for their arrest. From there, police found them to be in possession of a handgun, 59 grams of methamphetamine, bear spray, knives, over $3,000 cash and multiple cell phones. The canine unit also found 14 grams of cocaine inside the car. A 37-year-old man from Yorkton, a 28-year-old woman from Prince Albert and two men from Saskatoon…aged 30 and 43…are all charged with trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine, possession of methamphetamine and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. In addition, they were all charged with possession of dangerous weapons, possession of the proceeds of crime and breach of probation. The 43-year-old Saskatoon man is also facing a number of firearms-related offences.
