Another vaccine has been approved by Health Canada in the battle against COVID-19.

Chief Medical Advisor Dr. Supriya Sharma  Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine looks promising against all variants of coronavirus. She also says it has some advantages over other vaccines: It’s the first single-dose vaccine to be authorized here; it can also be store and transported at refrigerator temperatures; and, it has been shown to be 66 per cent effective overall in preventing moderate to severe COVID-19. This exceeds the efficacy standards issued by Health Canada, the World Health Organization, and other major regulators.

The other vaccines approved for use are Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca.
Canada has ordered 10 million doses from Johnson & Johnson with options for up to 28 million more, with deliveries expected in a month. (CJGX)
