The Angus Reid Institute survey of popularity of premiers shows Premier Scott Moe in third place. He has an approval rating now of just 57 per cent. British Columbia’s John Horgan is number one with 66 per cent of people in that province approving the job he is doing. Quebec’s Francois Legault holds down second spot at 62 per cent.
Nova Scotia’s Iain Rankin appears to be dead last with an approval rating of only 31 per cent but, the pollster says, this is a function of fully half the province as yet unable to render an opinion on the job he’s doing. So, the actual lowest ranking goes to Manitoba’s Brian Pallister with 36 per cent.
In this province, the premier has slipped four points since the last quarter. Angus Reid says, the premier won re-election handily last fall and has been under pressure to tell an electorate that skews towards fiscal conservatism, when the province will emerge from a period of deficit spending and return to balanced budgets.
