A 27 year old man has been sentenced to 15 months in jail, a firearm prohibition for ten years and a DNA order in connection to the Regina Police Service investigation into an officer involved shooting in Saskatoon on December 23rd.
Tikkanen Wayne Lee was charged with 2 counts of assaulting a police officer and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
Just before 6 p.m. on December 23rd, Saskatoon Police were called to a domestic dispute at an apartment in the 11-hundred block of Avenue W North, where it was reported a man had a weapon.
During the response, shots were fired, and Lee received non-life threatening injuries.
The Saskatoon Police Service asked the Regina Police Service to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including the suspect’s actions, the officers’ perceptions, and their use of force.
That investigation continues.
