Regina Police say that last Wednesday, members of the Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan team were traveling towards Regina on Highway 33 near Francis, when they were passed by a vehicle they allege was speeding. Police say both rear tail lights were broken out as well.

When they pulled the vehicle over, they say they noticed an open box of beer in the back seat. They also allege finding cannabis and a loaded firearm. Police say the lone occupant, 23 year-old Colby Bridgeman, did not have a valid license to possess a firearm.

He was charged with speeding, consuming alcohol in a vehicle, consuming cannabis in a vehicle, as well as given warnings for the vehicle equipment infractions. He was charged criminally for the firearm offence.

He was released on an undertaking to appear in Weyburn Provincial Court on April 27.
