The Saskatoon Police Service is saying on social media that they have recently learned of a post which claims attempted abduction and harassment and directly references specific streets and neighbourhoods.
But, the Police Service post says, “there are no reports or evidence to support the details of these claims or that these types of incidents have occurred in the specified areas or otherwise.”
The social media post notes that unverified posts can result in undue fear, panic and confusion.
Their message is that if there was a public safety concern, they would make the public aware.
The advice is to always check the validity before sharing information.
