An electrical fire has caused $25,000 in a Hampton Village home.
at 12:49 a.m. Sunday, the Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 100 block of Klassen Crescent. The first arriving fire crew were met by the homeowner who stated the fire had been in a bedroom and was extinguished.
Fire crews investigated the extinguished fire to ensure the fire hadn’t extended into the walls and structural components. They were able to confirm this using a thermal imaging camera.

Firefighters report the homeowner had heard a “popping” sound, opened a bedroom door where smoke and flame were present. Filling the bathtub with water and hauling water from the bathroom, the homeowner managed to extinguish the fire. It was reported to fire crews that the smoke alarm had gone off after the bedroom door was opened and the smoke was detected.
No injuries to occupants or fire personnel occurred during this incident.
