Battlefords RCMP responded to a complaint about an impaired driver and its alleged officers ended up seizing a loaded assault style rifle
A complaint about an intoxicated man was received Wednesday afternoon from a North Battleford business owner in the 11,000 block of Railway Avenue.
The officer who responded was told an intoxicated man had damaged some of the owner’s property and then drove off in a truck.
The vehicle was located a short time later.
A police officer approached the vehicle and it’s alleged a firearm was noticed sitting between his legs.
The man was arrested without incident.
It’s alleged the gun was a fully loaded assault style rifle with a high capacity magazine.
Charges are pending against a 28 year old man.
