A third boy charged in the 2019 death of a 15 year-old boy near a credit union ATM has been sentenced.

The 17 year-old who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act due to his age, plead guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 3 years in secure custody and supervision, less 6 months for time already served.  This will leave the boy with 20 months of secure custody remaining and 10 months of community supervision.  He also received a 10 year firearm ban.

In November of 2019 three teens were arrested after the shooting death of a 15 year-old boy in the ATM area of a credit union on the 2300 block of Arlington Avenue.  The other two boys, who also plead guilty, were sentenced earlier in March.  The shooter who is now 16, was sentenced to seven years for 2nd degree murder, he has 3 years remaining on that sentence, along with two years of community supervision.  The second boy, who is now 18, was sentenced to 2 years in secure custody and one year in supervision for attempted robbery.
