Parkland Ambulance Paramedics say by 7 a.m. Monday morning they had responded to 136 incidents over the weekend and the dominant injury involved falls.

Paramedics assisted in 12 incidents where someone had fallen be it outside, or inside and there was no specific reason nor was it restricted to older persons. One incident involved a 40 year old man slipping going down stairs. His head injury was significant enough that he was transferred to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon for further treatment.

And falls are far more probable in the wake of the weather Saskatchewan is experiencing to start the week. Environment Canada meteorologist Terri Lang, says with the up to 90 kilometre per hour winds, snow, and freezing rain, it will all combine to make the highways and sidewalks treacherous.
