A 51 year old anti-masker is facing some heavy fines in Manitoba after he allegedly became violent at two businesses, one of which was his own, in the community of Inglis. On Wednesday, police had a report of a disturbance at a Main Street business. A suspect reportedly entered without a mask and when reminded of the public health orders, he reportedly got angry and belligerent. Police say he refused to put on a mask, and then began to bang his fists on the counter and against the plastic partition, where the employee was standing. He then left the store for a few minutes, then returned and continued his tirade.

Officers located the man a short time later at his own place of business. Police allege he was yelling, swearing, and being belligerent towards officers. They arrested him.

He is facing charges of Mischief, Causing a Disturbance, two counts of Failing to wear a Mask – a $298 fine – and failing to wear a mask in his own business which is a $5,000 fine. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on June 23rd.
