A scary moment for a Regina woman and two children, has police in the Queen city looking for a suspicious man.
On Friday at around 8:45 p.m., Regina Police report a 22 year-old woman was walking in the Harbour Landing Neighborhood of Regina, with two children aged two and eight when a man walked up and began making conversation. The woman says at one point the questions got increasingly personal, and the man then allegedly picked up the two year old. At one point, police say other people noted the woman’s distress and intervened. The incident occurred in a park off the 4800 block of James Hill Road.
Although no one was physically harmed in this incident, police would like to learn more about this event if possible. The Regina Police Service wants to make the community aware of this event, saying at best it was a frightening experience for the woman and the children with her; at worst, it may have been an overture to abduction. This incident is under investigation.
Police are looking for a man described as approximately 20-30 years old, between 5’11’’ and 6’0’’ feet tall, with a thin build. He is described as having a dark complexion, brown eyes, and a short scruffy beard. The male was wearing a black hoodie pulled up over his head, black sweatpants and black shoes.
