Fundraising organizations have felt the effect of the pandemic but groups like the Kinsmen keep going.

This year’s Kinsmen Home Lottery is underway with a 33-hundred square foot home on Poplar Crescent as the grand prize.  The single family modern Saltbox house is located in Nutana and is one block from Saskatchewan Crescent and the Meewasin River trails.

Lottery chair Alan Sklapsky  says this program has been vital to the organization.  He says they have leveraged the program to continue to provide resources to the community and he says they are thankful they had it and could continue doing the program with support from the community during COVID-19.

The Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon handed out some sizeable donations in March to local groups working in the community including a $40,000 matching donation in a campaign that raised a total $82,061. The money will be utilized to pay for the Okihtcitawak Patrol Group core operations and Praire Harm Reduction drop-in centre.  As well, the Kinsmen Club donated $50,000 in support of the YWCA and the women and children who use their services.
