Saskatoon fire crews were greeted by heavy smoke showing from a house at 428 Avenue T South this morning. The call came in just after 7 a.m. and firefighters removed a person from the home who did not survive the blaze.
The fire was quickly brought under control and while information is limited in this early stage of the investigation, fire officials say it appears the fire started inside the house and that the smoke alarm was working at the time of the fire.
Two fire investigators are assisting the police in the investigation and a coroner was also on scene.
