Onion Lake RCMP say they received a complaint that shots had been fired at a home on Onion Lake Cree Nation. The people inside were able to find shelter and safety at a neighbours and weren’t hurt.
Police believed the suspects fled and travelled towards Llloydminster. With the help of about a half dozen detachments, air support out of Edmonton, the RCMP Canine Unit and the Underwater Recovery and Forensic ID sections, the suspects were intercepted and two people were arrested.
Layne Pahtayken, age 23, from Onion Lake Cree Nation is facing at least 18 charges while Gerome Christopher Okemow, also from the First Nation, faces 9 charges. Both will be in Lloydminster court Wednesday.
