Delivery companies using independent contractors for delivery are now eligible to obtain a permit to provide home delivery of alcohol products.

Minister Responsible for Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority Jim Reiter said. “This change provides an additional opportunity for individuals and businesses who may be interested in providing home delivery of alcohol products.”

The change will allow companies like Skip the Dishes, Uber Eats, and DoorDash to obtain a home delivery permit.

To obtain a permit, applicants must complete SLGA’s application and approval process.Contractors who make alcohol deliveries for delivery companies must be 19 years of age or older and have valid server intervention certification (Serve it Right).

Deliveries can only be made to customers 19 years or older. Businesses (retail liquor stores, craft producers, liquor permitted restaurants/bars) will need to ensure any companies they contract to deliver alcohol have a valid home delivery permit.
