High tech firm Vendasta of Saskatoon has been studying the effects of the COVID-19 virus on small and medium businesses. Their results indicate 82% of surveyed businesses put effort into their online presence, 71% of respondents adopted new software products, and 48% have adopted social media marketing tech.
Vendasta says, before the pandemic, 66% of respondents said they used remote meeting tools for their business. That number has increased to 84% in just the last year. 33% of local businesses that did not rely on local experts (like marketing agencies) before the pandemic have relied on them since.
Vendasta says the results seem to mirror a trend supported by third-party data: SMBs are more frequently working with a channel expert to simplify a complicated software landscape, and they are adopting technology at a more rapid rate.
