The federal government is providing $17 million for the construction of 84 units of affordable homes for First Nations in Saskatchewan.
84 new homes will be built at Beardy’s & Okemasis, Big River, Kahkewistahaw, Saulteaux, Waterhen Lake, Muskoday, and Witchekan Lake First Nations, as well as at Kinistin Saulteaux Nation, and Lac La Ronge Indian Band.
The feds say the COVID-19 crisis has made it clear that affordable housing is key to Canada’s recovery as communities across the country are dealing with the devastating impacts of rising levels of homelessness and housing need.
