Stabbing and Robberies

The Saskatoon Police say they responded to a report of a stabbing at an apartment in the 14-hundred block of 20th Street West just before midnight Wednesday and found a 37 year old woman with serious injuries. Police received information that two male suspects, armed with a knife and a gun were allegedly responsible for two consecutive robberies following the assault. Two suspects were located nearby. Police seized a knife and imitation firearm from one and a knife sheath as well as suspected stolen property from the other. Two 17-year-old males are facing a number of firearms offences and charges including Aggravated Assault, Robbery and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon. The victim of the stabbing was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Damage to Property

Saskatoon Police say they used bean bags fired at a suspect to try and take him into custody but it wasn’t effective. That’s when the Canine Unit got involved. Shortly before 12:30 Thursday over the lunch hour, police responded to reports of a man damaging parked vehicles with a pipe in the 13-hundred block of 20th Street West. A man was located who police say appeared agitated and was trying to harm himself. A bean bag gun didn’t work, and the suspect reportedly became aggressive and tried to assault officers before taking off into traffic. An officer with the help of a Police Service Dog made the arrest on 20th Street West. Charges are pending against a 30 year old man.
