During a traffic stop around one o’clock this morning [fri] a Saskatoon Police officer was left dangling from the vehicle as it suddenly took off while the officer was trying to turn the engine off. The incident began when police spotted a vehicle being driving erratically at Preston Avenue and 8th Street East.  A patrol officer identified it as unregistered and tried a traffic stop at Preston and 7th Street. The drama began when the driver got out and the passenger slid behind the wheel and took off. Police say the woman behind the wheel drove a short distance before the officer was able to free himself from the vehicle which then fled the scene. The officer was not injured.

The vehicle was found several minutes later, abandoned on Shannon Crescent.  Police say their search of the vehicle and belongings allegedly uncovered 0.2 grams of methamphetamine, open liquor, and ID belonging to another person.

Police tracked down a 42 year old woman who is facing a charge of Possession of Identity Documents Relating to Another Person, and Possession of Methamphetamine. Police are looking for a 33 year old woman.
