Saskatchewan residents who became eligible today to get their COVID-19 shot because of their profession, have taken to Twitter saying they are still waiting. One teacher said teachers have been placed on a master list and will be called back to book within a few days. The Saskatchewan Health Authority is responding to these Tweets saying the call will be returned but vaccine appointment is dependent on vaccine supply and suggest checking for availability at a local pharmacy or drive thru immunization.

Another teacher says she interrupted her class at 9 a.m. Friday morning to answer a call informing her that although she is eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine as a teacher, that she is under 40 and that she’d hear back in a few days. The SHA says Under 40’s aren’t eligible to receive the AstraZeneca in Saskatchewan so a supervisor will check on whether a booked clinic is offering either Pfizer or Moderna.

A variation of the same from the SHA was also directed to a physiotherapist, under 40 who couldn’t book because of his age. The vaccination booking system opens to those age 40 and up today. In the Northern Saskatchewan Administration District, it remains at 30 and over. Over 31 thousand Pfizer COVID-19 doses and nearly 19 thousand Moderna doses arrived in Saskatchewan this week.
